Headteacher's Message
Welcome to Bowness-on-Solway Primary School. Whether you are an existing member of our community or a new family looking to join our school, I hope you find everything that you need.
My ambition for the children here at Bowness on Solway School (BoSs) is simple. My aims are to ensure that:
BoSs to deliver memorable moments for every child, ensuring we deliver a learning environment that provides memorable moments for every child, enabling them to thrive and flourish as they grow and mature here with us. Upon leaving for Secondary School, each pupil is well prepared for the challenges on the next phase of their learning journey.
The school to nurture the individual talents and skills of each child.
All children to feel safe, happy, valued holding a thirst for knowledge and a love of learning.
Pupils come first. Our pupils are at the heart of all school improvement, each action enhances school provision to impact every child.
To foster and develop independence, so pupils understand what to do, when they don't initially know how to do it!
Working with our partners at CUSP, to deliver an innovative and ambitious curricular offer.
Deliver an inclusive and creative learning community.
Build on the family feeling of warmth, care, guidance and support.
Our pupils have pride in their school, pride in our fabulous location, in a designated area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and pride in themselves.
We offer a broad and balanced curriculum to provide a rich variety of learning experiences with new and exciting activities to fire their imaginations and extend their knowledge of life beyond the school boundary.
I like to get to know each child personally, as well as their parents and carers. Greeting children each morning is very important to me because although they are one of many, I want them to understand that they are each valued as individuals.
I have every confidence in our team of dedicated teachers and support staff. I look forward to the supporting the school on the exciting journey ahead. I am certain the future of this amazing school will be full of joy and success!
