'Many (pupils) are making rapid progress' Ofsted May 2015
Families and children who join our school community often comment on the family feel we foster within school. We work in small classes ensuring that every member of staff knows every child well.
Our first class has children only from Nursery, Reception and Year 1 who are nurtured on every step of their educational journey by our Early Years Specialist class teacher, Mrs Thompson and our TA Mrs Harrison, who has an Early Years degree as well as our Teaching Assistant Apprentice - Miss Paisley. While Mrs Thompson is on maternity leave, Miss Story is the Class 1 teacher.
The next class, Class 3, covers Years 2, 3 and 4 where the tricky transition to juniors is smoothly handled by Miss Edwards, Mrs Misselbrook and Elaine, who run individualised support programmes to accelerate our children's learning. In Class 3 there is also support from our Teaching Assistant Apprentice, Miss Paisley.
Class 4 (Years 5 and 6) capitalises on life long learning skills where Pat supports our children both in class and individually using a range of personalised intervention resources. The class teachers, Miss Davies, Miss Graham and Mrs Misselbrook, have a wealth of experience at home and abroad which they apply to our varied curriculum.
Miss Davies, the head teacher, is a Maths Specialist Teacher.
