Permanent part-time cleaner (the role is permanent, subject to a 3-month probationary period).

The salary is set at OP1: £24,309 per annum, pro rata; £12.60 per hour.

 

This is a rare opportunity to join the team at Bowness-on-Solway School – a small, welcoming and highly-desirable rural school in a beautiful location.

Bowness-on-Solway Primary School is accessible from Carlisle, Wigton and the surrounding areas. It is set in a stunning rural location with open and uninterrupted views of the Lakeland fells and access to the beach on the idyllic Solway Firth.

We are a very small school where pupils aged 3-11 are taught in three small classes. The atmosphere is unique and is more like a family, with everyone being kind, caring and welcoming to all.

We are seeking to employ a cleaner who is hard-working and committed to providing our children with a clean and pleasant school environment. The successful candidate will clean to a high standard and use their initiative to ensure all areas of the school are well-kept and maintained. 

The post is for 18 hours per week (worked outside of teaching hours), with 33 days of holidays (increasing by a day a year up to a maximum of 39 days) which must be taken during the school holidays.

The post will commence on Monday 14th July 2025 which will include a period of training.

This position involves lone working and key holder responsibilities to ensure the school building is secure each evening.
